  16. There is actually just one LightWave executable for x86 PCs, and it
  17. can run under all three basic flavors of Windows:  Windows 3.1,
  18. Windows NT, and Windows 95.  Likewise there is just one x86 LightWave
  19. Modeler executable.  However, the supporting files needed vary in
  20. three areas:  Win32s, Sentinel (hardware key) drivers, and content
  21. filenames (scenes, objects, images, etc.).  I will attempt to clear
  22. this up with a simple table:

  32. I don't believe the current installer handles the last case, so I
  33. recommend selecting the NT installer option if you are using Windows
  34. 95.  This should give you the nice long filenames and prevent Win32s
  35. from being copied to your disk.  You'll get the Sentinel driver that
  36. you don't need (unless you get NT someday), but it can be deleted
  37. later if you want.
